Financial Controller

Location: West Yorkshire

The Role

  • To manage the Company's finances
  • To deliver measurable increases in the Company’s financial performance
  • To produce monthly management accounts
  • To produce annual financial budgets and targets and to report monthly on budgetary performance
  • To ensure the Company meets its statutory accounting reporting requirements
  • To develop and maintain working relationships with external bodies
  • To manager central business costs such as fleet, mobiles and utilities
  • To supervise payroll activities for weekly and monthly paid employees

About You

  • A strategically minded individual with strong technical accounting skills who also offers a day to day hands-on approach
  • To have a full understanding of the challenges, aims and objectives of the business and be able to contribute to and support the Thorite strategy to maximise profitability
  • A self-starter with the ability to provide practical solutions to problems
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to report to the Board
  • To provide commercial and financial guidance to your colleagues on the management team
  • Have a positive attitude and enthusiasm, with the ability to motivate and lead your team
  • A qualified accountant, (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) preferably within an engineering, manufacturing or distribution business
