Field Sales Manager

Location: Bradford/M62 area

The Role

To organise, manage, drive and motivate Thorite’s Fluid Power Field Sales Team in-line with Thorite’s sales strategy.

Primary Objectives

  • To achieve Thorite’s annual sales and profit targets
  • To drive market share gain (Competitor conversion)
  • To drive percentage gross profit upwards
  • To interpret Thorite Sales strategies into effective Field Sales plans
  • To develop a highly effective and motivated Field Sales Team
  • To develop a Field Sales Team with clear, focused objectives and targets

Core Duties

  • Work closely with Thorite’s Sales Director
  • Manage the Field Sales Team
  • Manage Senior Key Account Managers
  • Specify Knowledge & Skills requirements for Field Sales Team and manage training to achieve required levels
  • Ensure Thorite’s CRM system is being used effectively by all Field Sales personnel in terms of entering appropriate information and extracting information to help in their sales roles
  • Analyse Field Sales performance data to drive performance improvement
  • Work closely with Thorite’s Management Team (e.g. Marketing, S&SC, Product Specialists, Contracts, Capital Equipment)
  • Work closely with Supplier Manufacturers
  • Work closely with HR
  • Ensure you and Field Sales Team always represent Thorite in the manner expected
  • Manage the recruitment process for any new Field Sales positions including conducting interviews
  • Plan and manage induction programme for new Field Sales Personnel

Key Account Manager

Location: West Yorkshire (Huddersfield)

  • To achieve and then to exceed your annual sales and profit targets by selling full solutions and service to your key accounts
  • To develop successful partnerships which add value to both the customer and Thorite

Sales & Service Centre Manager

Location: Sheffield

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Development Assistant to work in the Bradford branch of the UK’s primary independent distributor of market leading industrial compressed air, pneumatic, electro-mechanical motion control and fluid handling equipment.

We are searching for a customer-focussed team player that can think on your feet. You must be a good communicator who has experience of working with customers both face to face and over the telephone. We are looking for someone who has great attention to detail and is a finisher, who always see’s the job through to a sale.

Experience in Pneumatics, although ideal, is not essential as full training will be provided with the objective of moving your career forward within the company. Mechanical or engineering background desirable.

A full UK driving license is required as you may be required to go to other branches and to customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and administer sales activity within the sales office
  • Achieve sales growth within the resale sector
  • Developing business relationships by providing a team approach to customers, both face to face and by telephone
  • Liaising as necessary with all departments, in particular Field Sales, Head Office which includes the National Distribution Centre
  • Expedite and progress orders and enquiries working closely with product suppliers and the NDC
  • Produce and follow up customer quotations as requested

Marketing Manager

Location: West Yorkshire (Bradford)

The Role

Business strategies are dealt with at senior management level. The Marketing Manager’s role is to be responsible for implementing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet those agreed company objectives. To evaluate customer research, market conditions, competitor data, and implement marketing plans as needed. To oversee all marketing staff and activities ensuring Marketing department output is in line with company objectives and expectations.

The Marketing Manager should demonstrate:

  • Highly developed, demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • A strong understanding of customer / market dynamics and their requirements.
  • A proven ability to oversee and coordinate the efforts / activities of all department staff and agencies.
  • Ability to lead in an environment of constant change.
  • Familiarity and skill with the tools of the trade in marketing including PR, written communication, website development, market research, integrated CRM packages, Microsoft software suite of products, visual communication software products, and creative suites such as Adobe.
  • The ability to perform effectively in each of these areas:
    • Overall marketing strategy and execution of plans for existing products.
    • Working with product teams to manage new product development.
    • Managing launch campaigns for new products and services.
    • Ensuring effective, branded marketing communications including the company website, social media, print communication, PR and advertising.

Core Duties

  • The marketing of the company, its products and services, to the right markets through designated and agreed channels.
  • Manage all aspects of marketing:
    • Traditional; advertising, PR, catalogue/brochure production, print management, and exhibitions.
    • Online; website, e-marketing and social media strategy.
    • Branding; visual, company and core brand values.
    • Generating sales leads and opportunities from the various marketing activities and promotions.
  • To ensure frequent, timely and positive media coverage across all appropriate available media direct or through PR agency.
  • Demonstrate technical marketing skills and develop company product knowledge.
  • Develop and detail an annual marketing/promotion plan in conjunction with the sales department and in line with company objectives.
  • Develop and promote branch activities and display material.
  • Manage media and marketing staff and external PR agencies.
  • Analysis of the effectiveness of all marketing efforts.
  • Budget management; where appropriate deliver all marketing activity within the agreed budget.
  • Manage the entire product promotion life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Researching and evaluating new product opportunities, demand for potential products, and customer needs and insights.
  • Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, drive execution, foster innovation, focus on delivery to customers, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity.
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all other departments.
