Former rugby player converts to Thorite

Tuesday 1st June 2004

Bradford-based compressed air and fluid process specialists, Thomas Wright/Thorite Group, has appointed Martin McSwiney,(27), to the position of Sales Engineer for the Wakefield, South Leeds, Dewsbury and Morley areas.

Martin was previously with MMP Tooling, where he served a full apprenticeship as a toolmaker and precision engineer, then latterly with CR Precision Engineering Ltd and is looking forwards to promoting the wide range of products and services within the Thorite Group portfolio.

Martin will be based at the Group's Leeds Sales and Service Centre. He is well known in the rugby world, having played semi-professionally for Morley, Cleckheaton and Sandal, culminating in being selected for Yorkshire.

Unfortunately an injury ended his career two years ago, but Martin retains his enthusiasm for the sport and is a keen Leeds Rhinos fan.

Martin lives in Leeds and is recently married. He and his wife enjoy an active social life in the city’s pubs, clubs and restaurants.
