Thorite apprentice gains BCAS Certificate - and is named 'Apprentice of the Year' too!

Tuesday 31st May 2005

Jonathan Kinsella, (19), an apprentice service engineer at Bradford-based compressed air and fluid process systems specialists, Thorite, has a double cause for celebration.

The first is because he is thought to be one of the first “distance learning” students in the UK to gain the British Compressed Air Society’s certificate, which covers many aspects of best practice with regard to working on compressed air systems, including maintenance, control, storage, distribution and health and safety considerations.

The second is because Jonathan’s local training organisation, the Bradford Training Agency Ltd, has been so impressed with his performance that they have selected him to receive their Apprentice of the Year award.

Jonathan has been with Thorite since June 2004 and lives in Holmewood, Bradford.

Now that he’s successfully achieved the NVQ-level BCAS qualification, after six months of study, Jonathan is looking forward to some leisure time which will be split between supporting both Bradford and Manchester City, plus playing football, basketball and golf.
