Quiet, low vibration Kestrels swoop in

Monday 14th August 2006

Leading compressed air products and systems specialists, Thorite, has released a flock of new value for money, low noise, low vibration pneumatic power tools from Kestrel.

Designed to provide economic solutions for automotive workshops and the DIY car maintenance markets, the new hand tools meet the "Directive into UK regulations of the Noise at Work (1989)" requirements, which came into force in April 2006.

The Kestrel range also meets similar regulations regarding hand and arm vibration levels in industrial tools.

Taken together this ensures that both the individuals using the tools and, just as importantly, others working or passing near by can now benefit from a safer, healthier and quieter workplace.

The Kestrel range comprises:

  • 3/8" Reversible Air Drill: Noise level - 77DB, Vibration level - 0.55m/sec2
  • 1/2" Reversible Air Drill: Noise level - 77DB, Vibration level - 0.3m/sec2
  • 3" Extended Low Noise Grinder: Noise level - 77DB, Vibration level: 3.1m/sec2
  • 3/8" Low Noise Stubby Air Ratchet: Noise level: 84DB, Vibration level - 2.2m/sec2
  • 1/2" Low Noise Impact Wrench: Noise level - 75DB, Vibration level - 8.2m/sec2

  • 1/2" Low Noise Angle Die Grinder: Noise level - 76DB, Vibration level - 0.79m/sec2
