Compressed air products for education

Thursday 22nd March 2007

Leading compressed air products and systems specialist, Thorite, announces two products which are ideal for use in schools and colleges.

The Jun-air range of ultra quiet air compressors is perfect for use in teaching situations. The oil-lubricated line up of compressors features models with outputs from 0.13kW (0.18hp) up to 2.03kW (2.76hp) and receiver sizes up to 150 litres capacity. Where the compressed air is required to be absolutely containment free the Jun-Air oil-less range runs from 0.24kW (0.33hp) to 2.94kW (4.0hp), with receiver capacities again up to 150 litres.

Jun-Air compressors are popular with the education market because of their quietness in operation and this is further enhanced by extreme reliability, low energy consumption and minimal maintenance requirements.

A fascinating way for students to gain "hands on" experience of precisely how compressed air can be used in industry is demonstrated by Thorite's Clip-Technic training kits:

These perforated aluminium, desk top panel units are designed for long life and supplied with a wide range of "clip-in" surface mounted valves and accessories. The training kits enable students to create their own miniature pneumatic systems, utilising proof of position limit switches, directional control valves, actuators and combined-use logic units.
