Thorite's noteworthy commonwealth games connection

As the UK's biggest supplier of compressed air products and process systems, Thorite employs a large staff, many members of which have some unusual hidden talents.

Sales Manager at Thorite's Bradford Head Office, Kevin Crockford, is a perfect example, as he has a second life as the soprano cornet player in the world famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band, with which he has toured worldwide.

For his latest claim to fame this accomplished musician has been heard performing every time an English athlete won a gold medal at the Delhi Commonwealth Games as the anthem "Jerusalem", which was heard as each medallist stepped on to the podium, was specifically recorded for the Games by the band.

Kevin, who lives in Stockbridge near Sheffield, can also be heard a little nearer to home soon, as he will be playing with the Grimethorpe Colliery Band during the BBC's Songs of Praise programme on Sunday 24th October.
