Four move up in Thorite's North West reorganisation

Thursday 10th February 2011

In a bold move which recognises exceptional abilities and enthusiasm in both its established and more youthful personnel, Thorite has completed a major reorganisation within its thriving North West sales area.

Peter Platt (49) is promoted to the new position of national Operations Manager.  Peter lives in Manchester and joined Thorite 18 years ago at the company's Rochdale Sales & Service Centre, becoming Supervisor at the Bolton Centre in 2002, before further promotion to Customer Support Manager.

Following in Peter's footsteps, Rob Slater (39) from Darwen, now takes on the role of Customer Support Manager, having previously been promoted to Bolton Centre Supervisor.  He has been with Thorite for 3 years.

Ben Johansen (20) who lives in Rochdale, is promoted from the Rochdale Centre's sales staff to become Bolton Centre Supervisor, having started with Thorite in 2007.

Finally, Sam Knight (21) from Summerseat near Bury, has been appointed to the position of trainee Key Accounts Manager, after spending 4 years as an internal Sales Administrator at Bolton, and will now be based at Thorite's Blackburn Centre.

Speaking of the reorganisation Alan Donkersley, Thorite's Sales Director said: "These are exciting times for everyone at Thorite, reflecting the fact that we are the only true 'air house' in the whole of the UK.

"Peter will now concentrate on addressing the many needs of our total market, ensuring that we always provide a professional, local service to local business.  His mission is to deliver service excellence with zero complaints, which will be ably supported by our overall technical expertise and over £3.5million of stocked items.  Rob will ensure the specific needs of individual key customers are catered for, while helping them drive down costs in a very direct way, working closely with our National Accounts Manager to achieve the highest levels of stock rationalisation.

"Ben's promotion represents an exciting opportunity, as he becomes our youngest ever appointee to Centre Supervisor.  The Bolton Centre services two of our major customers and I'm confident Ben's business skills and enthusiasm will be much in evidence.

"Sam is also embarking on a fulfilling new career path, with the opportunity to assist existing industrial, manufacturing and processing customers in the Blackburn, Preston, Cumbria, Colne and Fylde Coat areas, as well as developing new prospects.  He's completed extensive training, possesses excellent process equipment knowledge and will provide outstanding customer service."
