IT's really working to bring big benefits for Thorite customers

Thursday 4th October 2012

An advanced new IT network is now taking all aspects of customers support and service into an era of exceptional efficiency at Thorite.

Thorite has relied heavily on computer technology to handle many aspects of its business for decades, but the new IT system literally lifts their customer support capabilities into a different dimension.

Faster quoting, simplified ordering and an improved delivery service all result from a far more accurate system of stock control, which links Thorite's Bradford head office and National Distribution Centre with each of the company's ten regional Centres in Yorkshire, Lancashire and the North East, plus its latest venture in Brierley Hill near Dudley in the West Midlands which recently opened, trading as LL Fluid Power.

A simplified pricing structure enables customers to immediately compare Thorite's highly competitive costs with those of its competitors, while a Customer Relationship Management facility constructs accurate customer profiles, which in turn enables information on products relevant to individual preferences and requirements to be sent out at regular intervals.

Thorite has supplied and installed thousands of compressors to industrial, manufacturing and processing concerns throughout the country. Timely servicing of these installations is important to maintain overall plant efficiency and Dimensions provides the ultimate method of collating and controlling information within its Service Department.

Customers are informed by letter, fax or email when routine services are due and soon will be able to book servicing online. In future each Thorite service engineer will carry a smart technology 'apps' unit which will monitor jobs and allow customers to verify their work. The information gathered by these smart units will trigger prompt replenishing of stocks carried by service vehicles and ensure all communications and invoicing of each job is totally accurate.

Speaking of the new system Alan Donkersley, Thorite's Sales Director said: "This new IT system is so capable and offers customers so many benefits it has taken some time to master, but the effort has more than paid off. We can now deliver a far more streamlines and professional service - and one that also makes us much easier to deal with - while helping to clearly differentiate us from our competitors."
