Huddersfield pneumatics Centre gears up for success

Friday 19th October 2012

Thorite's Huddersfield Sales and Service Centre has been an integral part of the company's success story for over 40 years, making a significant contribution to Thorite's enviable position as the UK's biggest distributor of pneumatics products and process systems. A major internal reorganisation is now complete, aimed at continuing the Huddersfield Centre's status as the area's best stocked pneumatics supplier, able to offer local industries the highest levels of expertise and service available.

Barnsley man Jim Fletcher (40) has been promoted to Key Accounts Manager, having previously worked as the Huddersfield Centre's Supervisor for 5 years. Jim joined Thorite in 2005 as a Sales Administrator at the company's Sheffield Centre. His new role will focus on both product and engineering services sales for Thorite's local industrial, manufacturing and processing customers, as well as developing new business opportunities in the Huddersfield area.

Also on the move is Mark Waddington (52) who is promoted from Sales Administrator to Centre Supervisor. Mark lives in Waterloo, Huddersfield, and will now be responsible for managing all resources at the Huddersfield Centre, improving customer service, maintaining stock levels, training new and existing team members and co-ordinating telephone and online account management.

Rounding off the changes is Ian Wood (34) from Milnsbridge, Huddersfield, who joins Thorite as Sales Administrator. Ian will provide face to face assistance at the Centre's busy trade counter as well as helping co-ordinate overall sales activities.

Speaking of the changes Ross Gowler, Thorite's Marketing and Engineering Services Director said: "The Huddersfield Sales and Service Centre was our second to open, back in 1971, and has always been an important outlet. I'm confident that the changes we've put in hand to strengthen the sales and administration operation there will ensure Huddersfields' continuing success as a leading player in our present team of 10 Centres throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire, the North East and West Midlands."
