Lord Mayor launches new Thorite Training Suite

Thursday 16th May 2013

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Dale Smith, visited Thorite today to officially open the company's new Training Suite. This state-of-the-art centre for pneumatics engineering education represents the latest phase of a major on-going investment programme within Thorite, long recognised as the UK's leading supplier of air compressors, air tools, pneumatics products and complete process systems.

The new Training Suite boasts the latest AV equipment, advanced climate control and a flexible room configuration to cope with a variety of applications. Attendees can now benefit from two day training courses for users of compressed air and pneumatic equipment, available on a monthly basis. The training will include a very popular 'Pneumatic Foundation Course' which includes practical hands-on training in circuit creation and fault finding, aligned to the needs of industry today. Each course is designed to extend the pneumatics knowledge of both customers and Thorite's staff and will be headed by technical specialist Bernard Alder, an ex-Thorite engineer who left to gain a degree in education.

As one of Bradford's leading commercial concerns Thorite can trace its roots back to 1850. Councillor Dale Smith has always been an ardent supporter of Bradford business, so it was fitting that his visit should be among the last of over 800 during his year of office. Speaking during the official opening the Lord Mayor said: "It is with great pleasure that I have been invited to open this impressive Training Suite and I'm delighted to play a part in this important step forward for Thorite, which although now a respected national brand and a multi-national pound operation is still a family run business - and more importantly run by a Bradford family! I really admire the concept of on-going training and welcome the synergy that results - the better trained the customer, the better they will understand the excellence of service that Thorite provides."

The new Training Suite plays an important part in Thorite's current investment programme which also includes major updates and refurbishments within the company's regional network of 10 specialist Sales and Service Centres located throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire, the North East and West Midlands.
