Thorite case study - Seabrook Crisps

Famous Bradford-based snack foods company Seabrook Crisps takes a huge amount of care and pride in the quality of the crisps it produces and recently called on Thorite to help ensure its stringent quality standards are maintained.

As is common practice in the food industry today, keeping crisps fresh and crunchy once they’ve been packed is achieved by the inclusion of Nitrogen gas in each bag, which prevents oxidation and thus any potential spoilage of the crisps.

Thorite was called in to advise Seabrooks as the company had developed a need for bag flushing and filling with Nitrogen in line with current practice.

As the UK's largest vehicle dismantling specialist, Doncaster-based Motorhog prides itself on maintaining the highest levels of operating standards.

When a new de-pollution facility was planned for their Bentley Moor site, designed to remove all oils and fuel from cars before dismantling, Motorhog turned to Thorite for advice on the most suitable and energy-efficient pneumatic equipment to power this preliminary stage of the vehicle recycling process.

Lapicida use cold water to provide precision cooling during stone cutting and shaping, but they were suffering water cooling issues which Thorite helped them solve with the help of Parker Hyperchiller technology.

Thorite case study - EDM

Manchester company EDM Ltd. have established themselves as a global supplier of training products which enhance safety and efficiency within training sectors. Their diverse market is predominantly split into two specific areas providing simulated training equipment for commercial aviation and simulators for military and commercial customers.

Air China approached EDM in order to secure supply of two reusable escape slide simulation systems for use on Boeing 737 and Airbus A330 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainers (CEET). EDM quickly realised that they needed technical help and advice for the interfacing of their electronic control with the pneumatic systems involved in the application. They had to look no further than Thorite to provide the expertise required to move the project forward and EDM contacted us with a request to become their preferred supplier for the design, supply and commissioning of pneumatic systems.

Siting of two HPC SK22 compressors in a soundproof compressor enclosure and 3 new ring main systems in state of the art EQO Aluminium helped us meet the challenge of upgrading an existing underperforming system at one of our major Doncaster customers.
