New compressor puts a spring in water bottling performance

Thursday 16th December 2010

Wardle Spring Water Company has been supplied with a new compressor by Thorite to power its water filtration system and bottling plant.

Thorite, the UK's biggest supplier of pneumatic products and process systems, advised Wardle to install an energy-efficient HPC SXC 5.5kW compressor as a reliable replacement for an existing machine, during a recent modernisation programme at the company's Rochdale production plant.

Wardle extracts water under pressure by borehole from an underground cavern lake deep below the Pennine hills.  Marketed under the Purely Pennine Spring Water brand, the water contains beneficial minerals and trace elements which make it a rich and naturally refreshing supplement to dietary needs.

Lee Hardman, Wardle Spring Water's Company Secretary, is impressed with the new compressor's performance and said: "Our previous compressor used to be pounding away non-stop from the moment it was turned on in the morning until close down.  The new HPC machine senses when compressed air is required and quietly clicks on and off to meet demand, which is going to bring the company worthwhile long term savings in energy costs."

Full details of the HPC compressor range are available from the Thorite website or from any of the nine Thorite Sales & Service Centres throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire & the North East.
