Thorite takes away the mystery and misinformation surrounding Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 with the launch of our Pressure Safe scheme.
With the introduction of 'Pressure Safe' we will take you through all the requirements you need to ensure safe operating conditions of your compressed air system and comply with the legislation.
The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000:S.I.128 (PSSR) covers all types of pressure systems including compressed air installations.
The legislation applies to every company using compressed air, from a small one-man business through to large companies. In order to comply with the legislation, compressed air systems must be checked periodically by a ‘Competent Person’. The users and owners of pressure systems are required to demonstrate that they know the safe operating limits (principally pressure and temperature) of their pressure systems, and that the systems are safe under those conditions. They need to ensure that a suitable written scheme of examination (WSE) is in place before the system is operated. They also need to ensure that the pressure system is actually examined in accordance with the written scheme of examination.
